On March 3, the National Women’s Volleyball Top League Finals of 2011~2012 Competition Season was held in Guangzhou. On the home court, Guangdong Evergrande Women’s Volleyball Team defeated the “King of Five Champions” Shanghai Women’s Volleyball Team at 3:2 in the second round of the finals, thus becoming the champion by virtue of the 20 victories in 22 games of the competition season and the complete victory in two rounds of the finals. The Chief Coach Jenny Lang won the honorable title of “the Best Coach” of the competition season.

In the competition season, under the leadership of the legend of the volleyball world – the Chief Coach Jenny Lang, Guangdong Evergrande Women’s Volleyball Team not only became the champion by virtue of 10 points ahead of the runner-up with two games still to play in the regular season, but also pushed onward the finals after completing the double over Tianjin Women’s Volleyball Team on the home and away courts of the semifinals, so that Tianjin Women’s Volleyball Team which won the championship of the League for eight times in nine years did not become the champion for the first time in the past ten years. Subsequently, Guangdong Evergrande Women’s Volleyball Team made two victories over Shanghai Women’s Volleyball Team on the court of the finals, becoming the champion of the League finals successfully, creating the best result since Guangdong Women’s Volleyball Team participated in professional leagues.

As the first and the sole completely professionalized volleyball club in China, Guangdong Women’s Volleyball Club, under the support of solid strength of Evergrande Group, was promoted to League A successfully after extending the winning streak to 12 in 2009 when it was established, won the champion of the regular season of League A and the runner-up of the finals of League A in 2000, and won the champion of the regular season of League A and the champion of the finals of League A this year. Guangdong Women’s Volleyball Club has not only achieved the beneficial exploration in the volleyball club professionalization and marketization, but also promoted the professionalization progress of Chinese Volleyball. The pioneering “Evergrande Mode” has also provided a set of templates with important model significance and reference value for the development of Chinese Professional Sports.
