On August 2, Professor Hui Ka Yan, Board Chairman of Evergrande Real Estate Group, met with visiting President of Real Madrid Florentino and his party in Guangzhou Evergrande Hotel. The two sides reached agreement on their strategic partnership and attended the signing ceremony marking the commencement of full-scale teamwork between the two clubs in a wide range of fields, including the training of young players, commercial competition, introduction of players and fostering of talents. Florentino pins great hopes on his visit to China, especially the prospective strategic partnership with Evergrande. “This is the first time that we are in Guangzhou. We want very much to establish a lasting and nice partnership with Evergrande Group and Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club through the visit.”

According to the agreement signed, Guangzhou Evergrande will enter into a strategic partnership with Real Madrid in fields like the training of young players, commercial competition, introduction and fostering of players, brand publicity and promotion, etc. In particular, for purpose of the cooperation in the training of young players, the two sides will set up in China Asia’s largest football academy. Real Madrid will send a team of outstanding coaches to the academy and select juvenile players from the trainees direct into its own echelon. Real Madrid will also provide necessary training opportunities for Evergrande’s team of juvenile coaches.  

On the afternoon of the day, a ceremony was held in Evergrande Foshan Foootball Base to mark the activation of Evergrande International Football Base. Present to witness the event were the top brass of Evergrande and Real Madrid, leaders of Guangzhou Sports Bureau, coaches and players of both clubs, media representatives from all over the world and football fans. Fluotino spoke highly of Evergrande’s move to kick off two new football bases simultaneously in Foshan and Qingyuan: “My first response after visiting the football field is that the facilities are fantastic. All the details contain the original design and thinking crystal of Chairman Hui and the entire team of Evergrande.” We believe that the successful marriage between Evergrande and Real Madrid and the commissioning of the two football bases will become an important fuarantee for Guangzhou football to achieve good results again and Guangdong football to return to the peak. They will also become a strong cornerstone for Evergrande to reach its goal of winning the Asia Champion League and further boost the takeoff of Chinese football!
