Just before that day, the highest government award in China’s charity - the eighth “China Charity Award”, which was sponsored by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, was released in the Great Hall of People in Beijing , and the compassion public(including Hui Ka Yan, member of CPPCC Standing Committee and chairman of Evergrande Group), organizations and charity projects won the award. After the earthquake in Ya’an, Sichuan Province, China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation announced: Evergrande Group immediately donated 20 million yuan to the earthquake-stricken areas in Ya'an, Sichuan through China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation. This is the first large group enterprise that reacts to the occurrence of earthquake and one that has made the most donation so far. In 2008, Evergrande Group donated over 11 million yuan to help with the areas stricken by Wenchuan Earthquake, and in 2010, it also donated 5 million yuan to the areas stricken by Yushu Earthquake.
