Morning News   In the fifth round of contest for Group B of National Women’s Volleyball League concluded yesterday, Evergrande led by Lang Ping beat Wuhan Sports College in three straight sets, winning full victories after five games.

In the former four rounds, Evergrande defeated Hebei, Fujian, Yunnan and Guangdong successively, winning full victories. Since the players of WIPE are mostly young and have experienced no victory so far, there is no suspense for the match. The only highlight is whether the cooperation between leading players of “Golden Generation” and American aides of Lang’s Army grows mature after running for some period of time.

In the first game, Evergrande quickly started scoring through forceful attacks at No. 2 and No. 4 while WIPE encountered frequent losses in the net battling. Although the young players strove hard, Lang’s army won the first game with 25-17 due to the difference of strength. The second game was almost conquered by Evergrande who won at 25-7 by Wang Li’s forceful attack, Zhou Suhong’s running attack and Hamotto’s quick attack which frequently penetrated its rival’s defense. However, Wuhan rose to the awareness of winning by the third game, surpassing its rival for the first time with frequent points at No. 2, which pressed Lang for her first suspension. She decidedly made tactic adjustment by Yu Jing, Jiang Wei, Zhou Yuan and Yin Yin’s alternative performance which helped Hamotto and Zhou Suhong detract the rival’s focus so that Evergrande got 10 points with one breath, finishing the game with 25-16.
