As 2009-2010 National Women’s Volleyball League Group B moves into the 7th round, Evergrande Volleyball led by Lang Ping will meet its strong rival Shandong at home. Evergrande swept its rival with 3:0 (25-20, 25-20 and 25-12) after three sets of contest, ranking first in the halfway of the league with six-game winning streaks.

Evergrande beat Shandong at 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-12)

Evergrande seized five successive victories in the five former rounds through sophisticated experience and outstanding performance. While Shandong also boasted of its results with four victories and one defeat, ranking second among the seven teams in the Group B. In this contest, Evergrande’s starting lineup are Wang Li and Yang Hao the chief spikers, Yin Meng and Hamotto the second spikers, Zhou Suhong the second setter, Feng Kun the setter and Davis the libro, while Shandong include Liu Weina and Xie Lei the chief spikers, Zhao Yu and Zhou Shanshan the second spikers, Yang Ge the second setter, Wang Nan the setter and Wang Yin the libro.

In the first set, Zhou Suhong’s running attack enabled Evergrande to score first. When they met at 2:2, Evergrande took advantage of its rival’s errors and Yang Hao’s flat set, surpassing its rival at 5-2. Hamotto’s back flight spike led to Evergrande’s 8-3 by the first technical suspension Then Evergrande continued its lead at 10-5 with successive points from Feng Kun’s two hits and Zhou Suhong’s attack at No. 2. In the middle of the set, Hamotto’ quick attack and block defeated the rival at all and Evergrande got 16-8 by the second technical suspension. After suspension, Shandong improved the score to be 12-18 due to the failure of Yang Hao and Hamotto’s attacks. Then Shandong went on narrowing the difference to 19-23, but at this critical time they made errors in the cooperation of attacks and defenses, which gave Evergrande another victory at 25-20.

In the second game, Evergrande got a preventive score of 5-1 with Yang Hao and Yin Meng’s services, Zhou Suhong’s attacks and Hamotto’s blocks. Then with Zhou Suhong’s running attack and Hamotto’s direct kill, Evergrande moved on to the first technical suspension at 8-2. After suspension, Zhou Suhong’s service continuously destroyed its rival’s first pass, and with Feng Kun and Hamotto’s successful double block, Evergrande enhanced its advantage to 12-2. With Wang Li’s adroit back smash point, Evergrande stepped into the second technical suspension at 16-6. As it drew to the end, Evergrande continued to lead the game with 20-10 with Yin Meng and Hamotto’s quick shots. When Yin Yin spiked off the block at No. 4, it got to the game point at 24-18. With Xie Lei’s error in attack from Shandong, Evergrande got another victory at 25-20.

Shandong started the third game with fierce attack, but Zhou Suhong’s service again destroyed its first pass, thus Evergrande surpassed Shandong with 4-3. With Wang Li and Yin Meng’s successive attack points from 5-5, Evergrande moved to the first technical suspension at 8-5. After suspension, Yin Yin and Zhou Suhong scored at No. 4 and No. 2 respectively so that Evergrande intensified its advantage to 11-7. Then with Wang Li’s cross spike and drop shot and Zhou Suhong’s running attack point, Evergrande got to 16-10 by the second technical suspension. After suspension three points were added successively to Evergrande in Zhou Suhong’s round of service and Evergrande moved further ahead at 19-10. As it drew to the end, Shandong was somewhat discouraged by lagging far behind while Evergrande was remarkable for spike and block. Feng Kun’s successful two-count spike helped Evergrande arrive at match point with 24-12, which was followed by Yin Yin’s dink point at No. 4. Thus Evergrande won the third game at 25-12, with a total score of 3:0 against Shandong, resulting in halfway champion with full victories in the six contests.
