December 27 sports special (reporter: Jia Wenjun) In the seventh round of contest for Group B of National Women’s Volleyball League held in the date of 27, Guangdong Evergrande led by Lang Ping beat its strong rival Shandong at 3:0, winning the championship in the first half of the league with full victories.

Before that Shandong had once experienced loss, ranking second in the table and being another hot team for Series A. But in the match that day, the performance of Shandong was under its level, causing little trouble for Evergrande due to its poor first pass; and it was quickly defeated at 0:3.

In the first set, Evergrande scored from start through its veteran-Zhou Suhong’s consecutive spike point while Shandong had several errors, thus Evergrande was in a leading position with 6:2. Shandong didn’t stop its poor performance after a suspension and lost the game at 20:25.

In the second set, Evergrande still controlled the court completely. Despite its successive 6 points in the case of 12:23, Shandong was unable to reverse the game all the same, ending at 20:25 again.

Shandong began the third set with better performance, which, however, didn’t last long enough; and it experienced a total loss at 12:25 in the presence of Evergrande’s powerful counterattacks.

In spite of the effortless victory, Lang Ping, coach of Evergrande, said: “Shandong is a very strong team, and we have prepared carefully with block, defense, first pass and service. Shandong is characteristic of its quick attack, for which we should learn from them.”
