Xinhua News Agency Guangzhou, February, 1. sports special (reporter: Qu Beilin & Jia Wenjun) On February 1, Xu Jiayin, the president of Evergrande Group, awarded ￥1.5 million to the Evergrande Volleyball Team commanded by Lang Ping on the first day this month, as a prize for their promotion into Group A and champion of National Volleyball League Group B with twelve games winning streak.

In the evening, Evergrande Volleyball’s success into Group A was celebrated in Guangzhou Evergrande Hotel, among the attendants were President Xu Jiayin of Evergrande Group, Xu Li (director of Volleyball Management Center), Chen Zhonghe (Vice director of Fujian Sport Bureau and former coach of Chinese Women’s National Volleyball Team), Maccutcheon (coach of American Women’s National Volleyball Team) and his players, Lang Ping (coach of Evergrande Women’s Volleyball Team) and her team members, and hundreds of news reporters from nationwide.

On February 2, the American Team will contest with Evergrande Volleyball in Guangzhou, which is the first time for a Chinese club team to compete with the national team from a world volleyball power.

Seated at the leading table, Xu Li, Lang Ping, Chen Zhonghe and Maccutcheon could hardly enjoy the dishes due to continuous interviews in more than one hour. Such “treatment” has perhaps never been enjoyed by any volleyball team both in China and the US.

Highlights of the celebration came when Xu Jiayin handed a giant model of check to Lang.
