Although this is only a common match of friendship and the two sides are of quite different grade, Evergrande Women Volleyball Team (EWVT) absolutely presented another highlight at the end of this season. It is happy to win the match and fine to enjoy the process. Ever since Athens Olympics in 2004, such treatment has not been enjoyed by volleyball teams at home for a long time, which makes the 70-year-old Song Shixiong comment excitedly that it is hard for Evergrande to escape from being a great heat.

In the match with American team, the players went out more for acting than for competitiveness. And it seemed more difficult to make the acting fascinating and professional than to win the match. Zhou Suhong, Feng Kun and Yang Hao of the “Golden Generation” boasted of strong basic skills and they rose to the pink of perfection after twelve rounds of Series B matches. As a result, one could always see happy smiles on their faces whenever they won or lost the game. Certainly, the 36-year-old Yin Yin at her venerable age as mother put on full performance with a combination of experience and skills, which enabled her to conquer the unyielding with yielding, and her smiling withdrawal in the end won more respect for her. Of course, another attraction of Evergrande was the two foreign aides. With skills of different style mixed, the audience was able to appreciate the advantages of various performances. Certainly, behind it, what all the fans present most concerned was Lang Ping. Concerning extending the veterans’ career, spotting the highlights of Chinese volleyball and making it more professional and fascinating, Lang’s exploration should be focused not only on the present team but on instructions for the management and employees of Chinese volleyball.

Although the volleyball league has been launched for more than ten years, the marketing problem has remained unsolved all the time, making it “pseudo-professional”. Now EWVT occurs with different management mode and idea of selecting excellent players, and with advanced marketing and promotion. Although it may not be the target for all the domestic clubs, it at least gives instructions for many people, which is much more significant than a victory over a match or a single champion.

The women’s volleyball is relatively spectacular among the three balls in China and also the best one in historical results. Therefore, an international route is more practical and convenient for it than for any other games. On the other side, since the club has to pay for each match, the focus should be more than the result of the score and a comprehensive consideration of effect and influence of the match complies indeed with the general trend of professional sports nowadays.
