Date:2013.02.27 Publisher:Xinhua News
On the evening of February 26, Evergrande Football Club won Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan in AFC Champions League (ACL), Xinhua News Agency reported (by Correspondent Wang Haoming). During the first round of F team of ACL, Evergrande, playing on its home court, defeated Urawa Red Diamonds with 3:0. Evergrande’s players Barrios and Muriqui respectively scored a goal, while the Japanese team scored an own goal, which contributed to such good performance and helped it make a good beginning in the new season.
Such score is another new record of goal difference in the history of contests between CSL teams and Japanese teams in ACL, following the maximum score of 5:1 created by Evergrande during the first round of ACL last year where Evergrande defeated Korean team.
Compared with bad scores of matches between China and Korea within the ACL history, those of matches between China and Japan seem better, and Chinese team often scored two more goals than Japan. For example, in 2006, Dalian Shide Football Club defeated Gamba Osaka with 2:0; during ACL in 2009, Tianjin Taida won Kawasaki Frontale with 3:1; in 2010, Beijing Guo’an even defeated Kawasaki Frontale twice with two goals when playing on home court and guest court; also, in the last season of ACL, Evergrande defeated Kashiwa Reysol, champion of J League, with 3:1 on its home court.
