On August 27, Evergrande Health (HK.0708) released its first interim report, with significant improvement in various operating indicators such as net profits, which took the lead in the Chinese health industry.

The announcement shows that Evergrande Health had interim net profits of 120 million HKD, and basic earnings per share of 1.385 cents, with a growth rate of 985.7% and 982% respectively, both of which ranked first in the industry. Moreover, in the first half of this year, Evergrande Health had a turnover of 416 million HKD, and gross profits of 150 million HKD, while the gross profit margin increased by 1.9% to 36.1%, and the total assets increased by 65.9% to 850 million HKD on a year-on-year basis.

According to the interim report, the business scope of Evergrande Health currently covers Internet community hospital, medical cosmetology and anti-aging, new international hospital, special rehabilitation, pension industry, etc. The first Internet community hospital in China was launched in Guangzhou on June 18, and Evergrande Wonjin Plastic Surgery Hospital, which is the first fully-Korean-based plastic surgery hospital in China, opened for business in Tianjin on June 23.

The interim report also reveals that the Internet community hospital will explore 10 new projects across China in the second half of this year. With respect to medical cosmetology and anti-aging, a chain network will take shape, covering various places including Hainan, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chongqing. In addition, the special rehabilitation and pension sectors are also undergoing accelerating construction, and for the new international hospital business, Evergrande Health is working hard to promote cooperation with famous medical colleges at home and abroad.

Relevant data shows that the health market is huge with a size of 8000 billion yuan, and is a blue sea waiting to be developed.
