Annual grand occasion of South China economic circle–eye-catching "Ten Guangdong Economic Figures of 2007" was announced a few days ago. On January 8, the hosts held a grand award-giving ceremony in Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Witnessed by more than 1000 guests from all walks of life, Hui Kayan, chairman of the board of directors of the Group, and other people were elected as "Ten Guangdong Economic Figures of 2007". Cai Dongshi, deputy secretary of Provincial Party committee, Zhong Qiquan, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangdong Province, and Long Yongtu, general secretary of Boao Forum for Asia attended the award-giving ceremony and gave the awards.
It’s reported "Ten Guangdong Economic Figures of 2007" is hosted by such government departments as Development and Reform Commission of Guangdong Province, Economic and Trade Commission of Guangdong Province, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangdong Province, Research and Development Center of Guangdong Government, Association of Industry and Commerce of Guangdong Province and Social Academy of Sciences of Guangdong Province as well as Southern Media Corporation, Yangcheng Evening News Group, Guangdong TV Station, Yangcheng Evening News and assisted by Zhongshan University, South China University of Technology, Jinan University, Sina and Tencent. Since its establishment in 2004, this choosing activity intended to search the leaders of Guangdong economic field with outstanding contributions has gradually become a direction indicator of Guangdong economic development among the people and has become top activity for Guangdong to commend economic achievements.
The hosts said this choosing was based on the evaluation aim of “searching Guangdong Figures of the year, focusing on Guangdong economic hot spots, leading creative trend of Guangdong and making great harmonious achievements in Guangdong” and the evaluation standards of “scientific development, independent innovation and social responsibility” to choose the candidates through self-recommendation on the internet, recommendation by experts and media and self-recommendation and elect the best. The elected witness the economic development pace of Guangdong and represent the general development direction of Guangdong enterprises. Though they come from different economic fields, they suit the “harmonious” theme of the evaluation activity of this year very well–adhering to sustainable development, making achievements in new autonomous innovation field and leading new development direction of the industry.
When accepting the award, Chairman Hui Kayan said as pioneer and leader of Chinese reform and opening up, Guangdong represented the leading thought and the most open economy in China and gave Evergrande a good development and undertaking environment, and Evergrande witnessed the development process of Guangdong through its development and expansion. Because of new Guangdong, new economy and new scene, the future will be more exciting than the past. In the future, Evergrande will constantly promote the ethic value of individuals and even the enterprise to make contributions to the structuring of harmonious Guangdong.
