At the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Guangdong Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Programme, Professor Hui Ka Yan Won the Title of “Southern Guangdong Guangcai Figure”

On November 28, the “10th Anniversary Celebration of Guangdong Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Programme & the Award Ceremony of Southern Guangdong Guangcai Figures” was held grandly at Guangzhou Sun Yatsen Memorial Hall. The activity was sponsored by the United Front Work Department of Guangdong Province of CPC, Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce and Guangdong Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Programme. Present at the activity were Wang Yang, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Huang Longyun, Chairman of CPPCC Guangdong Provincial Committee, Mr. Deng Weilong, Deputy Director of Standing Committee of Provincial People's Congress,Lin Musheng, Vice Governor, and other leaders, as well as Professor Hui Ka Yan, Vice President of Guangdong Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Programme and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Evergrande Group, and other loving care entrepreneur representatives.

During the evening party, “Southern Guangdong Guangcai Figures” were officially announced, and six persons including Professor Hui Ka Yan won the special honor. Professor Hui Ka Yan, on behalf of the “Southern Guangdong Guangcai Figures”, proposed to the society at the site of the evening party that everyone should make efforts to develop undertakings to construct a harmonious society, gather the thought consensus to carry forward the Guangcai Spirit, and devote oneself to the Guangcai Programme to actively return society.
On the behalf of the Southern Guangdong Guangcai Figures, Professor Hui Ka Yan proposed the Guangcai initiative.
As the action model of Guangdong Guangcai Programme, under the leadership of Professor Hui Ka Yan, Evergrande Group has been actively performing the responsibilities as a corporate citizen, and has accumulatively donated more than 1.6 billion yuan to the Chinese public charity. In the first ten months this year, Evergrande achieved the accumulated tax amount of 8.296 billion yuan. In terms of Guangdong Guangcai Programme, Evergrande has successively invested 30 million yuan through Guangdong Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Programme to support the education of the Northern Guangdong regions inhabited by ethnic groups, and donated 18 million yuan to support the people’s livelihood of Qingyuan regions inhabited by ethnic groups. Previously on October 27, Professor Hui Ka Yan was invited to attend the thanksgiving action experience exchange meeting of the national united front work system, and his speech on the meritorious deeds with the title of “Often Doing Charitable Things with a Thanksgiving Heart” was highly affirmed by Du Qinglin, Vice Chairman of CPPCC and Minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, and other leaders.
