To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its founding, Evergrande Group held aseries of activities such as development achievements exhibition, celebrationceremony and variety show in Guangzhou on June 26th  and more than 1,800 worldwide heavyweightguests attended.

Mr. Tung Chee Hwa, Vice-chairman of the CPPCCNational Committee, Mr. Lu Hao, Governor of Heilongjiang Province, Ma Huateng,Chairman of Tencent Board of Directors, Britain’s Prince Andrew, Mr. Faust, Presidentof Harvard University and other high-ranked politicians, elites and internationalfriends have sent more than 300 congratulatory telegrams and letters.

Over 110 government leaders at the provincial andmunicipal levels, for instance, Deputy-governor Xu Ruisheng on behalf of theGuangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC and the provincial government andDeputy-governor Liu Yuankun on behalf of the Guizhou Provincial Committee ofthe CPC and the provincial government, have participated in the activities.

More than 80 elites from different industries includingCheng Kar-Shun, Chairman of New World Group and Member of the StandingCommittee of the CPPCC National Committee; Ho Tsu-Kwok, Chairman of Sing TaoNews Corp and Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee;Jack Ma, Chairman of Alibaba Group; Qiu Yong, President of Tsinghua University;Guo Guangchang, Chairman of Fosun Group; Chen Dongsheng, Chairman of TaikangLife; Yeung Sau Shing, Chairman of Emperor Group; Yeung Kwok Keung, Chairman ofCountry Garden Group; Hui Wing Mau, Chairman of Shimao Group; Li Xiaopeng, GeneralManager of China Merchants Group and Pu Jian, Vice General Manager of CITICGroup gathered in the activities.

Meanwhile, over 350 tycoons from the financialcircles home and broad, such as Cai Huaxiang, Vice-president of theAgricultural Bank of China, Yue Yi, President of BOC Hong Kong, Lv Jiajin,President of Postal Savings Bank of China, Zhang ziai, Chairman of China OrientAsset Management Corporation and those from the major banks in China, the fourasset management companies, insurance, investment banking and securities alsoparticipated in the activities.

Over 1,200 guests from Evergrande’s globalstrategic partners such as China Railway Construction Group and its relatedoffices, Gold Mantis and Grandland Group and more than 100 media executivesalso joined in the celebration. Kong Jianyi, Secretary of the Wuhan Universityof Science and Technology (Chairman Hui Ka Yan’s alma mater) Committee of theCPC and President, attended at the scene as well.

It’s rare that such a powerful circle of theattendees had ever gathered, which showed the strength and influence of thehost corporation, as the insiders said.

Hui Ka Yan, Chairman of the Board of Directors ofEvergrande Group, delivered a speech at the ceremony on the day and reviewedthe Group’s leap-forward development and its noticeable achievements in thepast 20 years. Meanwhile, Chairman Hui expressed in his address his thanks toall walks of society for their long-term support, particularly to Evergrande’sstaff for their hard work and contribution over the last 20 years. To rememberthe past kindness and pay back to the society is the responsibility that theprivately-owned enterprises should bear and Evergrand will constantly devoteitself to the charity and welfare, he also said.

On the evening of the celebration, Evergrande helda highly-standardized variety show which was synchronically aired live on theGuangdong, Phoenix and Henan satellite TVs and presented a wonderful feast ofculture to the mass audiences as well as acting as a way of carrying forwardthe positive energy in society. It’s learned that the show’s chief-director wasassumed by Chen Weiya who was also the chief-director of both the closingceremony at the Beijing Olympics and the opening ceremony at the GuangzhouAsian Games and the script was written by Zhu Hai who once served as the creatorin chief of the annual evening show CCTV Spring Festival Gala, and the party shonewith extraordinary splendor as the celebrities gathered.

Data reveal that Evergrande has now developed intoa modernized corporation which integrates real estate, finance, Internet,health, tourism, culture, sports and husbandry, with total assets of over 750billion RMB, annual sales volume over 300 billion RMB, more than 86,000employees and 500 real estate projects or more in over 180 cities in thecountry. The Group recruited an employment of some 1,300,000 people in 2015 andpays an average daily tax of more than 100 million RMB to the country.
