The press conference held at 11:00am yesterday by Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao Football Club announced Fabio Cannavaro as the new executive coach of the team in the coming season, and Lippi would stay with the team as head coach. Lippi announced his decision to leave the bench and continue to stay with the team serving as “Skill Director” right after the team clinched its 4th straight CSL title on Nov. 2nd. Lippi’s new position was titled as “Manager” by Italian Media and the description to the position of Liu Yongzhuo, Vice President of the Group, at the press conference was matched with the responsibilities of a “manager”.
