January 3, 2010 marked the kickoff of the 9th round of matches in Group B of Anta National Women’s Volleyball League of the 2009-2010 competition season. Guangdong Evergrande Women’s Volleyball Team (“EWVT”) played at home against its Fujian counterpart—Ximengbao Women’s Volleyball Team. After nearly 75 minutes of fierce contest, EWVT beat its opponent again 3:0 (25:18, 25:17, 25:18) to achieve the proud feat of winning all the 8 matches it had taken part in so far.

Fujian Women’s Volleyball Team is the biggest challenge against EWVT in the first half of the season. When the two met in the second round of the leaguer on December 1, EWVT turned the table by winning 3:2 away from home. As the league went on, the team of EWVT, which had matured up after the break-in, gave its opponent no chance this time.

The starting lineup of EWVT in this home game was: spikers Yang Hao and Yin Yin, blockers Yin Meng and Christa, wing spiker Zhou Suhong, passer Feng Kun, libero Davis. In this match, the veteran players of EWVT did a pretty good job. Feng Kun, Yang Hao, Zhou Suhong and Yin Yin showed their experience edges in blocking and spikes. Spiker Yang Hao of EWVT led the team in scoring with 13 points, followed by blocker Yin Meng scoring 11 points and Zhou Suhong and Yin Yin, both scoring 10 points. In Fujian team, Xu Yunli, a member of the national team, scored 6 points.

After this round, EWVT ranks on top of the list with 24 points from winning all the 8 games. Yunnan Team, with a game in hand, ranks the second with 17 points from 5 wins and 2 losses. Shandong Team ranks the third with 16 points due to less winning sets, though the number of winning games is the same.
