At 4:00 pm, July 21, under the witness of over 10,000 fans, Evergrande’s Guangzhou Automobile Football Team had a competition with Nanjing Youyou Football Team in Foshan Century Lotus Sports Center. During the entire match, Evergrande’s Guangzhou Automobile Football Team scored 10 goals, creating multiple league records.

Also, the three phenomenal new players appeared on the pitch one after another, presenting an unprecedented football feast along with other players. In particular, Muriqui, a Brazilian player numbered 31, scored four goals in his first game in League A; Zheng Zhi, numbered 28, scored a goal; and Sun Xiang, numbered 32, also played well.

Evergrande Football Team created multiple league records

In this match, Evergrande’s Guangzhou Automobile Football Team created multiple league records by virtue of the score 10:0. The score difference of 10 goals not only created a record in the single round of League A, but also created a record in the history of Chinese professional football league. Besides, scoring eight goals in half round was also a record in the Chinese professional football league.

In the history of Guangzhou football, the greatest victory was also achieved by the Guangzhou Team. In the League A in 2007, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Football Team defeated the Hohhot Team by 7-0. In the history of Chinese football, since the inception of professional football league in 1994, there had been over 60 matches with a score of over 4:0 in Top League, and the most famous one was the match in which the home team Beijing Guo’an defeated Shanghai Shenhua by 9-1 in 1997.

Over a decade later, the dramatic score of 10:0 would undoubtedly imprint the name of Guangzhou Evergrande on the history of the Chinese professional football league.

10 goals were scored by six players from Evergrande

Among the 10 goals scored by Guangzhou Evergrande Team, four were scored by Muriqui, 2 by Gao Lin, and one by Bee-chey, Feng Junyan, Shi Hongjun and Zheng Zhi, respectively.

At 20^th minute, Bee-chey scored the first goal by a corner kick; and then, Guangzhou Evergrande Team’s attacking became increasingly fierce. By the end of the first half round, the Team took the lead by 2:0 with the goals from Bee-chey and Muriqui.

It is noteworthy that both teams were given a penalty kick during the match. At 66^th minute, the penalty kick from Tao Fei of Nanjing Youyou Team was saved by the goalkeeper Li Shuai. At 82^nd minute, Gao Lin scored a penalty kick, changing the score into 10:0.

Muriqui scored four goals in his debut in the Chinese league

In today’s match, Muriqui, nicknamed the “Brazilian Cheetah”, completed his debut in the Chinese football league. By the 64^th minute, he had scored four goals and demonstrated his exceptional ability in ball control and speed.

At 43^rd minute, Evergrande’s Guangzhou Automobile Football Team passed the ball from the backfield to the front to Wu Pingfeng, who passed the ball to Muriqui, who passed the goalkeeper and scored his first goal in the Chinese league.
