On September 14, 2013, Evergrande Group signed a cooperation agreement with Haikou Municipal Government on the investment and development of Hongcheng Lake District in Haikou for old city renovation as well as the wetland park comprehensive improvement to further expand the layout in Hainan. Present at the signing ceremony were Xia Haijun, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of Evergrande Group, and Chen Ci, Standing Member of Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Haikou Municipal Party Committee.
