Harvard University and Evergrande Group Signed A Agreement Officially for Research and Industrial Development in Green Architecture, Health Care and Medical Treatment, and Applied Sciences

On December 2 local time,Harvard University and Evergrande Group declared jointly that the two parties had signed a agreement officially. Harvard University and Evergrande Group will set up Harvard Green Architecture Center, Harvard Immunology and Disease Research Center, and Harvard Mathematics Science Center, to carry out scientific research and industrial development in such fields as green architecture, health care and medical treatment, applied science and so on.

Faust, the president of Harvard University, said that Evergrande was China’s most powerful leading enterprise and worldwide famous company, and she was very happy that Evergrande chose Harvard as a partner, this would open up an extremely important new direction of all partnership of Harvard. She claimed that green building, health care and applied science were the issues which deeply concerned by people all over the world, and Harvard was the place where had the most capability to solve the challenges that mankind faced.

Prof. Hui Ka Yan, Standing Committee of the CPPCC and the chairman of the board, expressing at the signing ceremony that the goal of Evergrande is to become the world’s top enterprise of “five most” which involved “largest size, best team, best management, deepest culture, most famous”. The attendees of the signing ceremony were representative of Harvard school and hospital as follows: Alan Garber, vice president of Harvard University, Mostafavi, dean of School of Design, Smith, dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Flier, dean of Medical School, Nabel, president of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Yau Shing-tung, tenured professor of Harvard University and senior executives of Evergrande as follows: Xia Haijun, vice president of the board and the CEO, Wang Chuan, executive vice president, Xie Huihua, the CFO, Lin Manjun, Xu Wen, He Miaoling, Xu Jianhua, Hong Changlong, vice presidents.

President Faust and Prof. Hui Ka Yan exchanged official and private gifts during the ceremony and vice president Alan Garber and CEO Xia Haijun signed the agreement on behalf of both sides. After the ceremony, vice president Alan Garber, on behalf of Harvard University, held a banquet for Hui Ka Yan and his party.

Hui Ka Yan and his party met the president Faust and reached cooperative consensus which laid the foundation of signing on officially, on October 8.
